Good afternoon, #LipMonthly subscribers! The weekend is hours away, opening up plenty of opportunities for spending time with friends, family, loved ones, and hitting up the mall! There is no better treat on the weekend than a fresh dessert at home, especially when you don’t even have to bake it! Read on to discover how to make this amazing Mint Oreo Layer Dessert!
1 package Oreo Mint Creme Cookies (or your other favourite flavour)
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 packages instant chocolate pudding
2 containers of Cool Whip (original or light version)
8. oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
Green food colouring
Place the Oreos in a food processor, or even a Magic Bullet. Often times I find placing the cookies in a Ziploc and smashing them on the counter works well, too! Reserve 1/2 cup of these and place off to the side.
Pour crumbs into a 9x13” baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the Oreo crumbs and toss with a spoon so they are coated. Then, press the mixture into the dish to create a crust.
In a mixing bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mixes with milk (read package for proper cup measurements). Put in the fridge to set.
In a mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth with no lumps. Fold in the containers of Cool Whip, and add food colouring (3 drops should be plenty).
Gently spread this cream cheese mixture over the crumbs with a spatula so all the crumbs are covered and an even layer is created. Then, pour the chocolate pudding over this and again smooth into a separate layer.
Pour the remaining Cool Whip on top and create an even layer on the top. Sprinkle your reserved Oreo crumbs on top.
Refrigerate the layer dessert until set, at least 3 hours. Then you are ready to indulge!
